Spring Break Video Camps
Registration Open for Spring Break Mini-Camps at Davis Media Access
The camps, which are offered to kids ages 12-14, will provide the opportunity to learn about video production, including how to create storyboards, how to operate cameras and sound equipment, and the editing process.
Camps are held in two sessions: Tuesday and Wednesday, March 25 & 26, and Thursday/Friday, March 27 & 28. Participants can register for either session. Each will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. Snacks will be provided. The cost is $50. Classes take place at DMA, 1623 Fifth Street, Davis, CA 95616.
As part of the mini-camp, students will produce a 60-second bicycle safety Public Service Announcement to be entered in the City of Davis Street Smarts “Focus on Safety” video contest. Prizes in the contest include digital cameras and $50 Target gift certificates as well as the chance to see the videos on the big screen at a special event at the Davis Varsity Theatre. Each camp participant will receive a DVD compilation of the videos and the videos will be shown on DMA’s
public access channel 15 on the Comcast cable system.
Registration is first-come, first-served and closes Friday, March 21 at 5 p.m. Class size is limited to eight participants.
