Join us in Supporting KDRT during the BIG Day of Giving – May 6

On the heels of Jeff Hudson’s excellent article about KDRT 95.7 FM’s upcoming 10th anniversary this fall, it seems fitting to place KDRT squarely at the center of this year’s fund raising campaign.

Our annual donations already support KDRT, a non-commercial, community-based radio station. Although KDRT is a largely volunteer-run project within the media center, it does have hard costs: the lights to keep on, licensing fees to pay, equipment to upkeep, and its share of insurance, staffing, etc.

This year, we’ve added a new component via our participation in the BIG Day of Giving. On May 6, 2014, more than 150 communities across the country will gather for one BIG Day of Giving (BIG DoG). With the hope of reaching millions of donors and raising over $100M nationwide, each community will rally support for the vital work of local nonprofits. On that day, donors will also be inspired to give so that their favorite organizations will receive a proportionate share of the pool of matching funds

Starting at midnight on Tuesday, May 6, visit http://www.givelocalnow.org and search for “Davis Media Access.” All donations made to DMA through BIG DoG on May 6 will benefit KDRT.
