Storytelling for Personal Discovery

This two-day workshop will teach participants to use digital tools to tell a personal narrative, and to connect with others through the exchange of these stories. Using a story circle format, participants will develop a personal story to share, and learn to set the story to a combination of images and audio, culminating in a participant screening.

Storytellers will also have the opportunity to participate in a separate public screening and discussion of their experiences using this process. The separate public screening and discussion event, Discover Self, Build Community: Digital Storytelling as Personal Narrative, is April 25th at the Davis branch library. Participants in this Storytelling for Personal Discovery Workshop are not required to screen their films publicly, but encouraged to do so.

This workshop will accommodate eight participants. Participants must commit to and attend the full time period for both days. Thanks to the City’s generous support, the workshop is free for all participants.
