Davis Media Access Accepting Requests for Forum Coverage

Davis Media Access (DMA) is accepting requests for coverage of candidate forums relating to the June 3, 2008 election.

The non-profit community media station will videotape a limited number of forums and air the programs on DMA public access channel 15 on the Comcast Cable system. The programs will also air on KDRT 101.5 FM, and will be available as video on demand from the organization's website.

DMA typically airs more than 80 hours of voter education programming in an election season, including forums, "Meet the Candidates" and a live election-night show.

According to Autumn Labbe-Renault, executive director of DMA, it's not uncommon for her to get requests for 13 or more forums in an election season. "We have limited reasources and cannot tape every forum, so we're trying to create a fair structure to help evaluate requests."

A simple application form is available below.  If a group us already taping its forum, they can simply submit a DVD or tape to DMA.
