City of Davis

Our City leaders have historically allocated PEG monies to the support of community media. We are grateful for their support and vision in doing so. Communities without real representation on television are significantly different than those with it. Our community has access to municipal, school and public meetings; to performances by youth and professional artists; local sports programming; and information about non-profits, community organizations and local initiatives.

Davis Media Access is proud to announce that OLLI Presents airs on DCTV Channel 15 on Thursdays at 5 p.m., as well as Fridays at 3 p.m.  The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute has begun recording its renowned lecture series with the assistance of Davis Media Access, and has generously offered to share the programming with the Davis community.

The first lecture series is Sex and the Law, delivered by Dr. Herbert Bauer, Professor Emeritus of UC Davis.  There is an introduction to Dr. Bauer and the series called A Conversation with Herb Bauer,  which will air all week and before each part of the series.

This list of programs and upcoming air dates can be found here.

Davis Odd Fellows Lodge

Odd Fellows are named so because "In 17th century England, it was odd to find people organized for the purpose of giving aid to those in need and of pursuing projects for the benefit of all mankind."

DMA in conjunction with the IOOF of Davis holds a First Friday Concert Series benefiting both our organizations every year. The hall is beautiful and the community really comes out to show their support and hear some good music.

Street Smarts

DCTV is a proud media sponsor of Street Smarts, a traffic safety program presented through the City of Davis Traffic Engineering Division.

We've been involved with Street Smarts since covering its kickoff event in 2006. Last year, our staff and interns worked with middle-school kids to help create PSAs and other programming. Kids learned about traffic safety and gained some valuable media production skills in the process.
