Perhaps nothing underscores the importance of localism in programming so well as local election coverage. Though we are located in a major media market, mainstream television and radio give only passing mention to Davis politics. DMA devotes significant time to helping candidates and campaigns gain access to community media, and educating the Davis electorate, free of charge. It’s a community service we’ve been proud to present for more than 20 years. Each local election season, DMA presents a variety of voter education programming.
DMA will produce local election programming for the June 8, 2010 election. Details will be available by April 1.
Davis Media Access is airing a variety of local election-related programs now through Monday, Nov. 1, 2010. Election programming, including candidate statements and a variety of local forums, airs on DCTV Channel 15 on the Comcast system in Davis, PEG Channel 99 on AT&T's U-Verse system, and is also available on demand at http://dctv.davismedia.org. Election content is aggregated and a Channel 15 schedule is also available at this link.
