Paid Production Services

Davis Media Access can assist you with many of your audio and video production needs.  We charge $50/hour for our staff time.  Below are typical services provided, and estimates for some of those services.  If your project doesn't quite fit any below or if you have questions please contact Jeff Shaw at 530.757.2419 or email info@davismedia.org.

Multi-camera Event Coverage

Two to four camera event coverage, switched live, with the program output captured to a hard drive.  Minimal post-production includes adding explanatory graphics to the beginning and end of the video and mastering to an MPEG file for DVD or server-based playback.  Additional post-production would include editing the timeline of the switched video itself, removing certain portions, changing the order of the program, or adjusting audio and video levels.

Example:

  • Preproduction Meeting: 1 hour x 1 staff x $50.00/hour = $50.00
  • Setup: 1.5 hours x 2 staff x $50/hour = $150.00
  • Length of Event: 3 hour event x 2 staff x $50.00/hour = $300.00
  • Cleanup: 1.5 hours x 2 staff x $50/hour = $150.00
  • Post Production/Mastering File: 2 hours x 1 staff x $45/hour = $100.00
  • Volunteer Assistance: free

                 Total:   $750.00 for 2 staff and 2 volunteers for 3 hour event.

Single Camera Event Coverage

DMA can provide single camera coverage of events, shot from one perspective, and recorded to a hard drive. Minimal post-production includes adding explanatory graphics to the beginning and end of the video and mastering to an MPEG file for DVD or server-based playback.  Additional post-production would include editing the timeline of the switched video itself, removing certain portions, changing the order of the program, or adjusting audio and video levels.

  • Preproduction Meeting: 1 hour x 1 staff x $50.00/hour = $50.00
  • Setup: 1 hour x 1 staff x $50/hour = $50.00
  • Length of Event: 3 hour event x 1 staff x $50.00/hour = $150.00
  • Cleanup: 1 hour x 1 staff x $50/hour = $50.00
  • Post Production/Mastering File: 3 hours x 1 staff x $50/hour = $150.00
  • Volunteer Assistance: free

                  Total:    $450.00 for 1 staff and 1 volunteers for 3 hour event recording.

Post Production and DVD Authoring

For footage provided to DMA, we can edit using Final Cut Pro X. Editing typically ranges from 2 hours to 10 hours.  We can also author DVDs with menu options.  We charge $50.00 per hour for these services.

Video Transfer, File Transcoding and Internet Uploading

We can transfer VHS, Hi8, DV or U-matic to DVD or the digital file format of your choice.  DVD authoring or editing of content is an additional charge.  We can transcode digital files from one format to another.  Additionally, we can upload video files to the internet.  We charge $20/hour of footage.  

Audio/Video Support for Events

We can offer support for events in the way of a public announcement (PA) system, video projection, or other audio / video services, including consultation.  We charge $50.00 for these services.

Audio Recording

We can offer professional audio or voice-over recordings using our edit suites, as well as professional field audio recording.  We charge $50.00 per hour for these services.

Studio Recording

We can offer recordings in our 2-camera TV studio, mastered to a digital file or DVD.  The studio has HD professional quality cameras, broadcast pix switcher, professional audio consoles and microphones, and advanced lighting systems.

  • Preproduction Meeting: 1 hour x 1 staff x $50.00/hour = $50.00
  • Setup: 2 hours x 2 staff x $50/hour = $200.00
  • Length of Program: 1 hour program x 3 staff x $50.00/hour = $150.00
  • Cleanup: 1 hour x 1 staff x $50/hour = $50.00
  • Post Production/Mastering File: 3 hours x 1 staff x $50/hour = $150.00
  • Volunteer Assistance: free

                   Total: $600.00 for a one hour finished studio production.
