Storytelling: Your History

Registration is closed for this event

As the holidays approach, families and friends gather and the stories of past and present begin to flow. We often define ourselves by these tales, and for many sharing personal history is part of what is means to be human. These stories make great gifts!

During this workshop each participant will decide upon a personal history narrative they wish to share with family and friends, and we will develop a media piece based on recorded narration, photos and possibly video (preferably from the participant’s own archives).

We’ll spend the first evening helping participants figure out the scope of the story they wish to tell and what resources (media) they have that can help to tell their story. We’ll also learn how to record narration and rough out a sequence for the story. Over the weekend, materials will be gathered and recorded, and the following two workshop nights, we’ll put it all together to create a finished piece.
