Photography for Non-Profits: Storytelling Through Stills

A basic photography workshop for volunteers, interns, and staff of non-profits, that includes learning what types of imagery your non-profit needs to communicate its stories, and how to organize a shared library of images for everyone to draw from when creating communications pieces.

Please bring your camera or phone, so we can resolve exactly what you’ll need to do to achieve suggested tips and effects.

For volunteers, interns, and staff of non-profits. We’ll cover the basics of photography, emphasizing subject selection and composition, learning what types of imagery your non-profit needs to communicate its stories, organizing coverage of your events, tips for using your phone’s camera, both settings and sharing, and some easy edits and effects. We’ll also cover organizing an image library for your non-profit, so you can easily source your own material for flyers, brochures, reports, and social media posts. There will also be some advice if you want to take your photography beyond a phone, to a DSLR or modern mirrorless digital camera. Hands-on demonstration w/ Q&A
