nnedy Place Clubroom- located at 1221 Kennedy Plac
e, Davis, CA.
DMA is the non-profit communitymedia center whose main projects are DCTV Channel15 on the Comcast cable system - public access t
elevision; Educational Access Channel 17 on the
Comcast cable system; and KDRT-LP, 95.7 FM, Low
-power community radio.
Jeff Shaw will team-tea
ch the session with Autumn Labbe-Renault, DMA's
executive together. Topics covered will include:
-Overview of DMA’s services, media train
ing, low-power FM radio, local studio productio
ns, event coverage and how to get involved.
-Ov
erview of DMA’s consumer advocacy work thro
ugh a grant from the CA Consumer Education Founda
tion. Learn how seniors and low-income residents
are especially at risk by practices unfair to con
sumers. Information provided about understanding c
ell phone pre-paid plans and charges; how to getinformation about important money-saving program
s; and where and how to file a complaint. DMA wil
l provide handouts about these issues in both Eng
lish and Spanish.
Anybody is welcome to attend a
n Orientation, but to use the facility for your
own productions you have to live, go to school,
or volunteer at an organization in Davis, Califo
rnia.    Davis Media Access doesnot charge for the use of our equipment and faci
lities and attending a General Orientation is thefirst step for getting involved.
