DMA Workshop - Camera Basics: Lighting

Learn how to light properly from a technical standpoint, as well as how to use lighting creatively from an artistic standpoint.
This workshop covers lighting for your video projects. Learn the basics of proper exposure for a well-lit image and how you can adjust exposure for various effects. From Film Noir style to the use of ambient lighting in the modern documentary, lighting can affect the mood of your viewers. You’ll also see how light can be used to sculpt depth, add contrast and pattern, direct attention and more. This workshop will help the filmmaker, documentarian, and photographer understand the ways in which lighting can help the filmmaker communicate with the viewer. Lecture w/ overheads and Q & A.
