Beginning March 5, 2013, Davis Media Access will remain open until 8 p.m. on Tuesdays & Thursdays.
On that same date, we will implement new hours for equipment check-in and check-out. These will be limited to the following:
10 a.m. to noon and
4-6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday
Staff may use the facility for their own projects or productions after hours. Regular closing and security procedures, and all other rules and policies, apply. This is a staff privilege that may be revoked if any rules, policies or procedures are violated.
DMA volunteers are not allowed to be present onsite after hours, or without staff supervision, with the following exceptions:
KDRT volunteers whose program falls wholly or partially during the facility's closed hours, and whom the KDRT Steering Committee has recommended, may be granted additional access to the facilities. Such access may include facility keys to limited areas, a personalized door code, and instruction in closing procedures. Volunteers granted this level of access are access must leave promptly when their air shift is over and follow all closing procedures and protocol.
DMA requires any such volunteer to submit basic contact information and a copy of their driver's license. Such information will be retained in a locked cabinet while the volunteer is active at DMA, and destroyed afterwards.
DCTV/DJUSD: The complex video and television inventory of DCTV and DJUSD carries significantly more liability and accordingly, we are not able to grant parallel access to DCTV or DJUSD volunteers. Many DCTV/DJUSD volunteers request to continue working after the facility is closed, but while staff may still be present. Such requests may present a hardship to staff, and we cannot accommodate them at this time.
Please note that DMA employs security cameras throughout the facility and can retrieve footage at any time.
