About Me: Ulfat Shaikh is a pediatrician at University of California Davis Children's Hospital and a Professor of Pediatrics at UC Davis School of Medicine. She previously served as Clinical Quality Officer for the California Department of Health Care Services. A board-certified pediatrician for over 20 years, Ulfat completed her medical education at Goa Medical College, India and pediatric residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York. She has a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and a Master’s in Clinical Research from UC Davis. Ulfat’s family has been involved with Davis Media Access for years — her daughter, Zahra, started the Davis Teen Animators Club at DMA, and her son, Rohan, is a KDRT DJ. Ulfat is excited about bringing her pediatric expertise working with youth development as DMA continues to develop and build on its youth media initiatives.
